JHC Holiday Art Sale

12-19-2009 to 12-20-2009

Location:
1320 Fillmore Street
San Francisco, CA CA

The Jazz Heritage Center is celebrating the holidays with its
first ever "Gallerie 'JHC' Art Sale" on Saturday, December 19th from 11:00 - 8:00 pm and Sunday, December 20th from 1PM - 6PM!

It's somewhat of a cross between a gallery sale, a street art sale, and a garage sale. We have jazz photography, original art (including a Norman Fontaine original oil painting), memorabilia, posters, books, CDs, cassettes, LPs, and even some 8-tracks for sale.  Additionally, there are other fine art posters, prints, and miscellaneous art works for sale.

The proceeds benefit the Jazz Heritage Center's "Contemporary Jazz History Archive Project", and the California Jazz Foundation's "Jazz Musicians' Healthcare Program".

The Jazz Heritage Center's "Contemporary Jazz History Archive Project" was inspired by the book "Harlem of the West", commemorating the Fillmore's Jazz Years. We seek to document jazz perfomances happening right now in the SF Bay area and create an archive for future generations to reference and learn from.

The California Jazz Foundation's "Jazz Musicians' Healthcare Program" was intitaed this year in northern California under the leadership of trumpeter Eddie Gale. It creates a fund to offset catastrophic health care costs for local jazz musicians.

Coto Pincheira is bringing a trio in to play from 4:00 to 6:00 pm - and Roger Glenn will be sitting in w/ Coto. Coto
has just received 4 nominations for Latin Jazz Corner awards, including best CD and best Latin Jazz pianist -

See you Saturday!
